'Haha suckers!' says my son... He's 2 & 1/2 by the way...

Many thx to Ray at Enjuki Racing... I picked up a number of parts off his CA19DET motor after he installed his SR20DET (SDS EM3, Turbo Kit w/ new upgraded turbo, intake manifold & injectors, OS Giken Twin Disc Clutch & Flywheel, and a few other tidbits). He's a GREAT guy to deal with! Been a pleasure to work with him, having him procuring the parts for me... Precision was a little slow getting him the turbo for me...

By the way, that's a Precision SC61 turbo... just got it in from Brown this afternoon. Had a huge HP box waiting for me... I was like 'wtf', then I opened it... had a big **** eating grin on my face. ^_^ Turbo, Intake Manifold, and Crank Pulley... final items I bought from him...

Can't wait to get the motor together and in my car! Just need to buy a few more tidbits and get it all installed... hopefully I'll be done by mid summer... ^_^

Not yet... I just took that photo cuz its just so friggin huge... when I bought it Ray gave me the option of his Turbo, which was an SC51 I think, or extra $$ for an "upgrade" as he called it. So I opted for the upgrade... I had no idea what size the SC51 was (physically I mean) so I had no idea how big the SC61 would be... lets just say its the biggest turbo I've ever held in my hands... ^_^

I'll get some more photos of the whole setup when I get some free time...

Leaving it stock until it blows rings or something... Its going to be a weekend car... So I won't be abusing it daily. Car is going to be mostly a drifter... with occasional drag racing and possibly road racing... who knows... but my biggest desire is drift... so we'll see how it does. This setup might be overkill for a normal drifter, but then its not going in an S13 or anything normal... so...

Hmmm whatcha putting it in? hardbody pickemup? LOL... well w/ that sorta turbo you'll have plenty of top end power.. as long as you stay in the "band" you'll be ok.. dip below that then get back on boost mid drift and you'll over-rotate for shizzle.

Then again I dunno what the hell I'm talking about...

I personally think it's too big for drift unless you're going to build it to handle high revs which will extend your powerband with that size of turbo. You'd need some cams too.

All in good time... all in good time... can't afford everything up front... or the car would never be finished.

I know, I'm in college. you don't have to talk to me about money! It's just that for drifting, you want a broad powerband, and with a turbo that size on a motor this small, you'd need the motor to rev really high and to have better cams to make power through the mid to high end.

float, what would be a good cam to go with? Would one from a ca16de work? Or would I needed upgraded cams, like Tomei's or something to take advantage of the turbo power band?

!!!DON'T SPEND MONEY ON THE CA16DE CAMS!!! That is a big myth that needs squelched. They are the same specs. No difference. It's just a waste of money. As for your question, I'm not a big pro on cams, but is this something that is going to get driven daily, or are you concerned about the idle?

Really? Are you sure the CA16DE intake isn't 248?The exhaust is the same.

I'll bet it is 248. And I'm pretty sure that's what the CA is too...

I think the info on this site is different. I don't have time to find the thread, but maybe the JDM cam specs are different for the 8 port head vs the 4 port head?

have a look in here...

The injection_manual is well worth a look too for general checking and diagnosis.

Awesome! I DLed both of them. The FSM that you have seems better than the one I have. I just deleted mine and decided to keep this one! Thanks.

it's actually the same one (aussie one) but someone from our club scanned the missing pages, and somebody else did the acrobat work. :)
