So about 2 weeks ago i picked up a 1990 with a SOHC engine for 350 bucks. The head gasket was blown and the cylinder walls were rusted, so i pulled it. The body is extremely straight with only two small dents from hail. The interior only has two flaws, a very fine crack on the dash and a tear in the seat, but besides that it's perfect! I bought a 95 ka DOHC to swap with the original motor and it's at the shop getting bored .020 over right now. I'm planning on doing a wire tuck while it's out of the bay, and also rebuilding the engine myself. I'm very new to the nissan world so any recomendations for engine parts, wheels, suspension, body or anything else would be greatly appreciated. i couldn't get figure out how to insert pictures so just click the link and there are some pics on there, more to come soon!

aces on the buy. i second the ka-t.org. very imformative. as for parts, dont skimp on parts. you buy cheap knockoff replicas, dont expect them to prform any better than what was paid.

AMEN.

I mean, some cheap ebay shift knobs are probably okay (they're all pretty ugly though), but for engine components and things like suspension and brakes, don't ever skimp.

just curious.... why are people deporting new people to other forums such as KA-T.org? there is a plethora of knowledge here.......

that being said.... i would be checking out bushings, fuel pump and filters, gaskets, cancer(specially in the spare tire well), and over all quality of the suspension and sub frame.

then make choices based on what I WANT TO DO. not what someone online recommended for slapping on for wheels and stuff.

I think before I got too deep into spending I would make myself a map of what I wanted to do and then choices for parts should be that much more refined and go from there.
