Hey folks,

Newbie here about to purchase a Murano SL and I have a question for you!

I have been told that you can only start the Murano SL with the IntelliKey in your pocket if you have the TECHNOLOGY PACKAGE. I am being told that the Murano I'm looking at with 360, Premium, and Leather will not do this, but I can't seem to find a good answer.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Do any of you have an SL without the technology package that allows you start the car while the key is in your pocket?

Thanks in advance for your help - this forum has been a lot of help!

Welcome to NICOclub, glad to have you here in the Murano Forum!

If it is a 2010 Murano, you have the full blown intelligent key. If it is an '09, there are some models that do not have the I-Key, and it is basically a regular key fob that is also your key, there is a slot on the dash that will then allow the push button to start your vehicle.

Timmbo,

Thanks so much for the response! The model I am looking at is a 2009, but as part of the 360 package that includes the Intelligent Key. Am I missing something? If I have the Intelligent Key and it does NOT start the vehicle while in my pocket, what exactly is the purpose of the Intelligent Key?

Thanks so much for your help!

It appears the confusion may be because that prior to the introduction of the 360 package (in spring of 2009) the only way to get the Intellikey on the 2009 SL trim level was to get the Technology Package. If your 2009 Murano has EITHER the 360 Value Package or the Technology Package, you should have a working Intellikey.

Whoever is telling you that you must have only the Technology Package must be ignorant of the content or existence of the 360 Value Package...

Enjoy! --jayhawk

jayhawk,

Thanks for the response! That makes sense - from what I've gathered the 360 package was added in the middle of the year. I noticed in the brochure that it says it must have the Technology package in order to have the IntelligentKey, but it does not even give the 360 package as an option. So I assumed the 360 package was added after the fact and they weren't going to re-print all brochures.

Unfortunately, our sales consultant was a little confused and admitted as much because of the package changes between '09 and '10 (not a good excuse, but at least she told us as much). She didn't even realize that the 360 came with the iPod interface, and not just an "adapter."

Regardless, we are headed to pick up our Murano this evening! Thank you guys for your help - can't wait to drive it!
