Hi everyone,

Just like the subject line says.

Who is still having starting issues even after replacing the battery.

I don't really think that is the battery, I had the system checked and they didn't come up with anything that looked suspicious. I will have it assessed again with a different company. I had the battery replaced less than a year ago with an Interstate battery and it maintaining a charge.

Some people talked about a ground wire that they replaced, I'm assuming that they are referring to the negative on the battery but not sure.

I was thinking that it was the cam/crank sensors bit I would have issues when I jump the vehicle.

Do you guys have this issue and what should I be looking at. I'm not ready to have the dealer waste my money at this point.

On a side note, O'Reilly scratched my fender the day I had this issue checked and they refused to pay for damages that their employee caused. They said it's my word against theirs. DON'T USE THEM EVER! STOP GOING TO O'REILLY

Any info would be appreciated

Andy

Can you describe the actual starting issue? From your description it sounds like you're able to start the car reliably when you apply external power to the battery. Battery could be a dud or not have enough CCAs. Double check, clean and tighten the terminals. Don't trust a parts store employee's inspection.

I had it realized today

The only thing that shows is the battery shows good but not too capacity. I drove 100 miles going to work and back but it not being fully charged shows that something is up.

I think something might be draining it but I will replace the battery and go from there.

Ya it does jump start every time so I think the sensors are good to go.

The ground for the battery might be undersized so I might change that to.

You can pick up one of these on Amazon to monitor your alternator charging voltage

You can use a battery hydrometer to measure the specific gravity of each battery cell.

Any cell not accepting a full charge is most likely the source of your problem.

I replaced my battery last Saturday, I'm sure this will happen again.

I'm I'll be going to Infiniti this weekend and talk to their lead mechanic and see if h is aware of this and what he recommends to fix this problem.

I'll let you all know what I find out.

If you drove 100 miles and the battery didn't show a near 100% charge, it's your battery. I had the same thing a month ago before I switched and the battery was at 60% after doing 25 miles. I dumped it right then and there and put a new one in the parking lot.
