O.k. so my car was running horrible. When I was driving to work today it just died, and wouldnt start back up. I checked the codes and it said it was the igniton so I bought a brand new cap, rotor and distributor. It is getting spark (I checked all 4 plugs. I just replaced them last week and yes they are gapped correctly) I pulled the fuel line off and its getting fuel. The power transistor and coil both passed the fsm test. The timing is correct according to the fsm. I checked the codes again and this time it read "no fail" and still wont start, and still just cranks.

If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it!!!

An engine needs 3 things to be able to work, Spark, Fuel, Compression....

You have spark.....

You have Fuel.....

Check your compression across the board

i'm betting the timing was off or plugs gapped incorrectly If spark and fuel don't meet at the right time, you'll have no turnover (on extreme cases)

Im getting fed up with the damn thing now, Im bout ready to drive it off a cliff, lol.

Someone mentioned something about my fuel pump. come to find out, it was giving fuel but just when IT wanted to... Idk how many times i pulled the front injector out and had my brother turn it on and nothing came out. After the 4th or 5th time of turning it off/on again fuel finally was going through the fuel rail. I broke down and threw a walbro in it. It started right up. Set the timing and it runs like a champ EXCEPT now its throwing codes 11* (Crankshaft position sensor)21* (Ignition signal)34 (Knock sensor)35 (EGR temp sensor)

Before it just threw code 21 and I assumed it was from me messing with the distribuor too much and it couldnt tell what the hell I was doing with it.

Now it will Idle fine... but it wont want to rev past 4k. other than that it runs fine.

I just got done printing off almost the whole damn trouble diagnoses part of the fsm to try and figure the rest of the crap out. I noticed on the bottom of the page there is a little *, (both 11 and 21 have this after it.) and it says

"*: check items causing a malfunction or cranckshaft position sensor circut first, if both diagnostic trouble code no. 11 and 21 are displayed at the same time."

My next question, Would the EGR be causing it to not want to rev all the way?

have you looked at your maf sensor? if you haven't find a budddy with a known good maf sensor and put it on you car. mine was running real roof and would die while driving. i put a new maf on and it drove normal again. i'd get one from nissan, if thats your problem. just check that before you start throwing parts at it.

You guys are going to laugh your *** off at me! I feel like an idiot.

So finally after a week of freaking out, and what not... I finally get my car to my b/f's house, after burning 1/2 a tank of gas just going 5 miles. I pull up and pop my hood. I asked him to go over everything I just tested to make sure I did it right. He walks over, asks me to start it...

He looked over at me and started laughing, and said "your ground wire came loose"

This whole time that damn ground wire on the side of the block for the ignition and coil and what-not worked its way loose. I was so worried about something "BIG" being wrong I forgot to check the grounds.

BUT I did have a bad fuel pump.... atleast I figured something out on my own!
