My 240 still has starting problems! When i leave the engine off for around 3 hours or more, i have to tap the gas pedal to start it on the first try. When i leave off over night, and start it in the morning, i push more on the gas pedal to get it to start. This problem must be fixed once and for all

What happens if you don't gas it?

Does the starter still engage normally, or does it sound like it's slower than normal?

If i dont gas it, it won't start. I have to turn the key 5 to 6 times for it to start normaly, (only if my engine has been off over night or more than 4 hours though) If ive been driving it all day of course it starts with no problems.

Sounds like it might be a IAC; might want to try cleaning it out. Should also check electricaly.

It is located on the back of the lower part of the intake manifold.

ha! Now i remember, i came a cross that abreviation in my manual. I knew it had something to do with the intake, i just didnt want to screw up anything. Thats why i asked first. Could it be a leak?

Have you pulled your plugs to see what they are like. If you have any fuel residue your injectors may be leaking and possibly flooding your cylinders. Just a suggestion. Mine was doing something similar. It was a combination of a vacuum leak and leaky injector O-rings.

Ha! Vaccum leak! Thats what this mechanic said when i went to a shop around my house. He said he heard a "psss" sound when i shut of the engine. I had a hunch that a component in my fuel system wasnt acting right.

i pulled my injectors and unscrewed my IAC unit, and there are no signs of wear or residue. I took out my spark plugs, (they were brown and rusted on the tops), so i replaced then w/ new ones. The new sparks did some improvement to my cars performance, but my 240 still doesnt start up on the first try, on the second start, i tap the gas pedal, and it starts up. Idk, could it be my fuel delivery?
