Car: 1984 300zx Turbo

Post

I bought an 1984 300zx turbo from a friend for 50 dollars. The car has 90,000 miles on it and it is in half way decent shape. In order to get the car to strart we had to hook up an inline fuel pump to the line. The pump was the same psi rating as the oem intake. The car would run at idle for a couple of minutes and then quit. If you pressed the accelorator when the car was idling it would quit. When I got the car home it would no longer start. It kept turning over wanted to fire but didn't. I believe that the fuel pump needs to be replace. I thought that it may also have been that the timing was off, so i took off the covers and all of the timing marks and the distributor line up where they should. I am wondering if there pressure regulator or the computer is shot. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
