starting issues, need help

i'll start off by saying, yes, i did search, i just didn't find the solution to my problem. so flame about searching if you must, but i did search. i have a manual 90 hatch, all stock aside from the cat-back exhaust and cone filter. i did have an alarm and remote starter installed, but part of the current problem has been going on since before they were out in. the first thing is that when i turn the key the motor turns over really slow, but it always started. last night when i went to start the car so i could go out, i turned the key and i got nothing. i automatically assumed the battery was the culprit, pop started it, and drove to the parts store for a new one and installed it in the parking lot. after it was in, i turned the key and got nothing again. tried it a second time and it started. no problems for the rest of the night, but today i had the same problem at the end of my lunch break. i kept trying to start it and eventually it did start. i used the remote start at the end of the day and it worked fine, but when i parked in front of the house i decided to try and start it again...nothing. same thing as earlier, try it a few times and eventually it started. the starter was replaced over the summer, new plugs last year. any help you guys can offer is greatly appreciated. thanks for putting up with the novel, and on second thought, flame on, i could use a good laugh, this forum can be a riot.
