Starting issue...

Hey Nico! Quick question... When I crank over my redtop SR a Screeching noise comes from my starter(or that area)... Ive had my Kouki for 8 years, and I've had and see starters go and its never sound like this... Is this the starter going? I know starters will grind on the flywheel, but its not a grinding sound... just a Screeching high pitch noise. any input would be awesome! cheers!

Did you have somebody try cranking it while you listened or just from in the car it sounds like that area?

Both, its coming from that area, it starts right up, i think it didnt start once... its ridiculously loud...

did you put a new starter in recently, because it might be a clearance issue or it can be a bearing issue on the alt. just throwing in what i can hopefully it points you in the right direction

I haven't replaced the starter, but I'm running a KA alt wih a SR pully, ill pull the belt off and try a start up, see if the screeching happens. if not it might be the alt... Thanks for the input Sideways570
