Two quick questions I'm hoping that you can help me with. 1 - Sometimes when i start my vehicle after sitting over night I have to start it two or three times before it will stay on. It starts but shuts right off. Then after the second or third attempt, it will start and stay on. Any info? Thanks.

2 - I'm fairly certain my center support bearing is bad. The bushing the bearing sits in is cracked and torn. In first gear just normal acceleration, around 3000-4000 rpm i feel a vibration in my seat area. And shifting from first to second I get vibration and feel a shutter. My question is, How difficult would it be to install a new support bearing on my own. I have plenty of tools and a lift....I'm just uncertain if there are any "special" tools that I will need to finish the job. Any comments or tips would help for this. Thanks again. Tim

Shouldn't be too bad. Easily done by a DIYr in an hour or so.

Thanks. Doesn't sound too bad. But what about the staring issues. I was leaning towards fuel pressure? If the car were running and I shut it off. I wouldn't have a problem starting it up right after or an hour or so after. But the long sitting...that's when the starting issues come about. Any info? Thanks.

Could be a few things. When was the last time you did a tune up. Could be a weak coil, grounds, fuel pressure regulator, clogged fuel filter, etc.

I recently installed a new fuel filter and new dual point spark plugs. Still does the whole startup thing after sitting for a day or so. I also noticed that when fully wide open throttle in low gears, there seems to be no acceleration difference as if I were half throttle. When I pulled my old spark plugs they were not even discolored. No black, no white, no nothing. I think it's running lean under heavy load. If I were in fourth or fifth gear with 1/4 throttle, acceleration is nice and smooth. But again, low gear under heavy load....seems like no acceleration. Any ideas? Fuel pump? Anything? Oh yeah, I have a brand new intake filter also. Stock intake tube though.....Thanks for your help

I did notice that I couldn't feel any vacuum off my egr blow by valve, or whatever it's called, when I took the lines off. Any reason why I wouldn't be getting any vacuum there, besides a vacuum leak. I did check the other vacuum lines, and didn't see any cracks. Would a bad EGR valve cause this and my poor acceleration under full throttle? Thanks for the help, again.
