Every once in a while my car will just sit and crank over and not want to fire up. I think it is getting flooded but im not sure. Other times it will start right up. I havnt noticed a trend yet but it seems to happen at random times. It started happening about 3 weeks ago after getting an injector replaced at Nissan. Took it to Nissan and it started up fine for them so they didnt know what was going on? My question is...if it is flooded should i hold the gas down while it is cranking? Or is this bad to do????

Thanks.

Its fuel injected holding the throttle down does no good!!

does it give any kind of smoke out of the exhaust when it finally starts?

I read online that on many fuel injected cars there is something called "clear flood mode". This is done when you hold the accelerator to the floor. But i wasnt sure. Yes, black smoke comes out when it finally starts up?

I could be wrong but i havent heard of that b/f.

Ya its def flooding.

So when it floods does it have to set for a while b/f it happend? Like over night?

You could have an injector leaking fuel down into the cylinder causing it to flood.

Im not sure how to check this. Someone on here should know tho.
