Ok, so this video shows a cold start, the whole video i do not touch the gas pedal at all. i have searched and searched and read and read but cant seem to find a reason for the crappy start (happened after changing fuel filter, now happens after every cold start), the high rpms after it gets started i am blaming on the q45 throttle body having the coolant lines hooked up to it. but then it will sit and fluctuate from about 2k to 1500 for a couple seconds before settling out back at 2k till it gets warm. then it will idle down at or below 1k. if anyone has some insight or advice it will be much appreciated. and if i missed something when i was searching i'm sorry, i'm not too fond of nico's search function.

might have to click on video to play it from photobucket

are you using factory ecu? not sure about any others but mine starts at normal rpm and then jumps up to 2k for about 30-60 seconds on cold start. i was always told it was to get oil flowing but who knows. my car has always been like that.

Check and see if your throttle cable is adjusted right and you don't have any vacuum leaks. My car idles at about 1300 when cold out then drops to normal when thermostat opens

What you are experiencing is likely conflict between the Q45 TB built in idle control and the IACV mounted on the bottom side of the intake manifold from the RB.

First, start by installing the throttle body properly, which is 180-degrees from the orientation you have it installed. The intake manifold has drilled/tapped holes to mount the throttle cable bracket without using fricking galvanized angle from Home Depot. At least buy some 1/8" aluminum to fab up a bracket. All it takes is a drill and a carbide bit on a die grinder :slap:

Second, take the coolant lines off of the Q45 throttle body.

Last, remove the idle control spring from the Q45 throttle body.

Done done and done. That s*** was so ghetto. I think it was a piece from some shop shelving. Lol. I did how ever not flip it Bc the fuse box got in the way. Instead I fabbed a bracket to use that looks a lot cleaner then the angle iron. Oh and pulling off the coolant lines and spring fixed the idle problem I was having but I am still getting that very crappy cold start from the video.
