So I have a 1986 Nissan 720 King Cab 4x4. Ive had it for a while now and not very many problems. But I ran it a while back to move it so the could plow or parking lot. Turned over and ran like a champ parked it and came back about 3 hours later to move again, and nothing when I first put in the key and just turn it in dash lights come on then when I go to turn it over to start nothing besides clicking. So we pushed it back into the parking spot and was told possibly it could be the starter and or ground. However I forgot to check and turn on the lights to see if that was it. Instead I took of the starter went and got it tested and its good. So I just got back home put it on connected everything back up and the battery had a little spark when I put on the hot terminal. Sat in my truck hoping to check the lights to see if it was the ground. Then nothing put in the key and just turn it, now its acting like its getting no power at all. Not to sure what all it could be but I do know the battery is good as well as alternator and the starter. So maybe hoping for some advice/help. Im not sure if maybe the wires are wrong on the starter I put it on the same way I took it off and or what to check. Thank for the time and help!

Did you check the battery voltage at rest and during starting? The simplest guess is that the driver door didn't get closed all the way, and the interior light drained the battery.

Yeah I actually called my father-in-law who is a mechanic for Nissan. He started naming off a bunch of stuff that flew over my head but then he had me make a "tester" from the cab light and some wires. So I tested the battery and it lit up the light going from negative to positive. So then i tested the wires coming from the posotive terminal, and didn't light up. Then I disconnected them cleaned them tightened them down good and low and behold she started like a champ. So me and the wife took it to go mudding and now Hercules is all and well.
