ok, so i bought a 92 s13 hatch from a buddy as a project and im unsure about what direction to go with some of the parts so i thought that i would ask you guys for help.

the ka thats in it is a 93 with around 90,XXX miles on it. i wanted to go itb with the motor but dont trust my diy skills so i opted for turbo. looked at the kit that is made by cx racing and did sum research and said why not. id like to see at least 300 and would be thrilled to see 350 out of the build.

i know that im going to have to change the ecu and injectors to see these numbers but what should i go with on these??

now the other thing im stuck on is breaks and suspension and tires.

for the breaks, id like to upgrade the fronts n convert to rear rotors, nuthing extreme just an upgrade, but i need them to fit behind 15 X 7 wheels.

i wana go with coil overs and wasnt sure about megan racing, or godspeed. which ones are better and what model would be a good all around choice.

and tires, i know i want the falken azenis 615 but i would like to see it with a slight stretch. as i said before ive got a set of
15 X 7 wheels so what dimensions do the tires need to be to achieve this?

and this ones a lil outta place but ive got this crazy idea, once i get the intercooler mounted, im taking off my front bumper and doing the sleepy eyes mod to the pop ups but i want to adjust the bulbs to shine straight out, any ideas on how to do this?

any help is greatly apreciated, and keep a look out for the thread on the build! :dblthumb:

What ever you do keep the motor because of the low millage or throw a VH45DE or LSX in there.

i would do any repairs the car needs FIRST...then head to some new coils, adj tension rods, and camber kits. tires is up to you, research the tire rating and see what fits your $$$... and then after that ,worry about the T in your KA...

def keeping the motor. its in need of no repairs with the exception of a new hatch, the current ones got cancer and leaks, aside from that the cars in perfect running order. ive decided on a tire brand i just need help with the sizing. because of the wheels being 15 by 7 i need to see wat fitment of the tire would give me a nice stretch. the cars already slammed with tien lowereing springs but they will be sold and replaced with megan racing coil overs.

I really wanted to go N/A at one time also. Dont do it. ITB's are for masters. I know a guy that really knows cars and he did it, never liked them, had tons of problems. Bla bla bla. Also you will never reach 300 N/A. Boost is your friend. But for starting your build, always get suspension first. A car that handles well is always tons of fun. Brand name is your call. People have fun with all types. Getting 300-350whp will be more expensive then you will expect. Not saying its rediculas, im just saying more. Brakes, get new rotors and pads. As far as an EMS goes, figure out if your gona tune it or if a shop is. If a shop is, contact some local shops and see what software they are fermiluar with and get that. Talk with the tuner about your setup and they will give you great pointers. Your wheel with is 7. 195's wont give you much of a strech, but it will give you something I think. I think without good fab skills you are SOL on your headlights.

Good luck with the build. Keep us posted.

you don't trust yourself to do an itb set-up yourself, but you're going to attempt a 300-350hp turbo set-up yourself? interesting. also, cx racing turbo? idk what your research came up with, but from what i've read, it's hit or miss with them, and that's enough for me to not trust them.
project213 wrote:i know that im going to have to change the ecu and injectors to see these numbers but what should i go with on these??
a new ecu is not required. bigger injectors are. do more research.

BRAKES is the proper spelling. what do you want to convert the rear to? 240's already have disc BRAKES in the rear. 15" diameter is fine for the wheels, 7" width is umm...ghey.
project213 wrote:i wana go with coil overs and wasnt sure about megan racing, or godspeed. which ones are better and what model would be a good all around choice.
again, search for reviews. not many complaints about megans these days, lots of negative reviews for the godspeeds from people who haven't personally used them. i'll do 240gen a favor: get stance or pbm/psm/pms/whatever. moving on...

stretching tires is stupid, imo. stretching tires on a 7" wheel is f*** retarded in anyone's opinion.

that one's not going to happen.

don't take any of that the wrong way, just trying to offer some constructive criticism.

all much apreciated, i see the cx kit alot on other forums and floating around so i figured what the hell if it brakes ill jus yank it out, or itll give me an excuse to buy my buddies rb. excuse my spelling i hate typing and have rather bad a.d.d. so i miss things like that.

so stock ecu will work?? what size injectors would be best,

rim plans are kinda back n forth still havnt settled on a particular set yet so any suggestions on type size and offset, much appreciated.

honestly im new to 240s i know a bit but things like suspension and brakes are not my strong suit so that takes care of that.

and as for a color change, any arguments with satin black? engine bay ( inner fenders fire wall etc) in silver with a couple coats of clear?

coils- megans should be fine but get a flame suit on if you get godspeed
brakes- with the hp goals your trying to achieve i would definately upgrade to 300zx brakes, you wont need anything bigger than that.

another thing was the isis suspension arms. why not keep the stock and just upgrade when forced to? if you have seen some isis arm reviews im sure youve seen the horrible/crooked welds some of them come with.

wheels-most everyone in 240gen likes 17 x 9 +20 or around there.if you really like 15s then atleast get wider than 7

ok, so im doin some work today and was wondering if anyone around the oldsmar area had a low profile jack that they could help me out by letting me use to change my throwout bearing?? also i hve a set of origin markers that i dont want, ones a little foggy but in good shape that they might trade for a steering wheel?? if so let me know. :bigthumb:

minor progress, still no luck with the jack, but got fenders and bumper off to solve some alignment issues. still want to trade origin markers for shifter or steeling wheel, and i have the privace cover....un needed, also wanting to get rid of so let me know
