Starting and idle problems...

Hello there. I am fairly new to the nissan 240 world. I have just picked up a 91 240 fastback. I have replaced the plugs, fuel filter, air filter. I have cleaned the AIV. First of my car requires me to push the gas pedal to start it 95% of the time, 5 % of the time it will just start. Second when i am driving and i put in my clutch the rpms drop very fast down to about 400 rpm. and then rise back up to its normal 700-800 rpm range. There is some hesitation in first gear also. With all of this the gas milage doesn;t seem to be all that great. Can someone please help me on a place to start looking at fixing these problems.
