So im not new its just been awhile since ive been on. Couldnt log into my account. used to be ch1873857. been around the forums since 03. Used to be CAs, then the rb20, sold my rb25 hatch last year and thought i was out of the game. guess i couldnt stay away. i got a great deal on a fresh rb25 neo swap from JEI in sterling. originally it was going into a 91 merc 190e. had it gutted, started the cage and all the fabrication when i got tagged to go to afghanistan for 8 months. since ive been here i realised i wanted to spend less time in the garage and more time at home. so i tasked my buddies with finding me a shell so i can throw it together when i get home. yeah, 240s are familiar territory with oodles of parts unlike the merc where i was going to have to make everything. it wouldve been cooler. maybe. but i compromised.

so before i left the states i tore down the neo, checked the head and block, cleaned it all up and painted it. found myself a present too. some Splitfire coilpacks. woopy. so i assembled it with a slightly thicker Cosworth headgasket, all new cometic oil seals and gaskets, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, and the arp headstuds. thus fair here is what ive got for the darn things

full neo motorset
cometic gaskets/seals
cosworth headgasket
N1 water pump
ARP headstuds
SplitFire Coilpacks
real Greddy IM
555cc injectors
q45 throttle
OSGIKEN twin plate clutch. :chuckle:
new style CXracing forward mounting turbo manifold
CX one piece downpipe with vband
Garrett 57 trim single ball t3
Tomei Procams 260* 9.15mm lift :naughty:
(stock neo cams are 232*, so that should be interestin)

that about does it so far. its just a long block sitting on a stand in the corner of my buddies garage but its gonna be pretty awesome when im done.

have a couple questions though. i dont have hours and hours a day to search but i cant seem to find the straight forward answer im looking for.

i have engine management on my mind. got a buddy trying to get rid of an emanage ultimate box. i know they support the neo but it doesnt seem like they make a PNP harness for it. every since EMS ive found goes up to series 2 rb25 and thats it. doesnt seem like there is much support for the neo in this department. i wanna run a haltech PNP but i dont know if they support the neo at all. i cant find anything. and if i have to run a Series 2 harness id have to replace all my ignition components and that just doesnt seem worth it. im contemplating the ultimate because 1) i can get it cheap 2) Im not scared of wiring 3) they support MAP sensors 4)its just plain simple. but i dont like the fact of a piggy back. want the real deal.

Any ideas?

thanks for any help. and remember its my first post as this username but ive touched more 240s than i have women. wait. no.. :slap: you get the point!

You can run a Haltech without a problem and the base map that is included for the R33 RB25 will get you going as well.

I suggest running a Haltech Sport 2000. We sell these with PNP jumper harnesses but you can get a lead harness which you can wire up yourself (cutting off your existing ECU plug and wiring it up). No sensor swaps or anything will require you to run it. Everything else you mentioned you'll be able to run (ie: MAP).

so the pinouts for the r33 and r34 rb25s are the same? for some reason i thought it used a different connector. which was why none of the other ecus support the neo. hmm.

the factory ECU plugs are different between the RB25 NEO and the others. When using the Sport 2000 it comes with it's own plug wich you will rewire your ECU plug.
