Are starters a problem with this car? Any feed back would help. On my third in seven years, told its because of heat build up being so close to cat conventer!

Do you have the heat shield on the starter?

Yes I do that's why I wonder what the problem is. Also are the starter relays another thing that fails? Seem to be having trouble there to.

That's in the driver side wheel well.

Typically starters aren't an issue. I found I could get mine rebuilt locally for $75 or so, rather than dropping $200+ on a new one.

I'd check the connections to be sure you're getting full battery voltage to the starter. Check for corrosion on the harness which goes to the battery from the starter.
