i just bought another s13 coupe but engine is not working. first when i brought it home, i jump start the car to see if it even crank. than i realize that it's not even cranking. im thinking it's probably the starter, so i tested and see that the starter is working fine (starter is working but car will not crank). oh..yea i tested the starter by using the jump cable, but when i try to start the engine by turning the ignition, starter didn't work. any body have any advice to go from here? thanks in advance.....

so the starter is cranking and it sounds like its trying to start? check for spark, fuel and compression.

starter is working but no sound of engine cranking... you think maybe something has to do with fly wheel? maybe the flywheel is no good?

Or the engine could be locked due to over heating. Put a wrench on the main pully and see if the motor turns.

Sorry I was a little confused about what you where asking. Just a thought but try hooking a jumper cable directly from the Negative battery termanal to the engine you could have a bad ground (had that happen once) If you trace the main power wire for the starter it will lead you to the starter solenoid. Usually on most cars haven't looked on my 240 yet there is two termnals one leading from the battery and one leading to the starter that you can jump to test and see if the solenoid is out. When mine went out in my f150 that is how I had to start it.

If it's the solenoid in the starter try hitting it a few times w/ a bar or something hard that will reach(always worked on my chevette) otherwise it could be in your wiring to your starter
