how to change my Starter on my 97 maxima? what is the easiest way to change it?

If you still have the stock starter, call the dealership with your VIN and see if your car falls under the recall.

now this recall is it on starter or alternators?

I was under the impression that it was the starter. Maybe it was the alternator.

yeah its the alternator...i had my starter changed today it was really easy....but now i found out that my power sterring rack is leaking which blows....I looked up what it cost to replace it....its over 400 dollars so i figured i would try power steering stop a leak from lucas first....????

No, try tightening the clamps on the rubber lines that connect to the steering rack before you use and stop leak or replace the rack. Sometimes the clamps will just work loose and can be tightened up.
