Starter?

I think my starter might be going bad. maybe just the solonoid? i'm not sure though. every now nad then when i go to start my car, it wont turn over, it'll just click. after 2 or 3 tries it always starts. but its the fact that it doesnt start on the first try that bugs me, and im not gonna be happy if i get stuck somewhere cuz it wont start. if it is just the solonoid how much is involved in fixing it?

nissan does not sell just the soleniod as far as i know. you may find one from someone that overhauls starters though. if its clicking, thats a sign that you have a weak batt. the solenoid is trying to engage the starter but cant draw enough current. if it works after a few tries then it could be your batt is not properly supplying or your big fat starter wire has too much resistance. take to auto zone or somewhere for the free batt/charge/start test.
