hey my starter just croaked on me yesterday so im looking for a new one...

can i just get some generic one that they might have at liek a discount auto store or do i have to get a specific one?

if possible can you list some names and links.

ok thanks guys... thats what i was thinking but jsut wanted to make sure...

so there are no like performance one or anything.... something that would crank the s*** out of my engine... lol

I got mine used off ebay for like 20 bucks, you should try there first

Yeah, it's a cheap enough part to not need to buy used. No need for a performance starter either, lol .

I actually went straight for the dealer first and they wanted over 200 dollars for one... And thats why I went to ebay.

ok got the starter long time ago, finaly got a friend to help me push the car up into the garage and i cant get the damn mounting bolts off!

did you guys have a hard time... i tried my air rachet, no luck- tried taping on the ratchet with a hammer, no luck.

do they put locktite on it or something???

When mine went I took it out, dissassembled it, cleaned & regreased the reducer, and took the brush plate off. I took the brush plate to an aternator/starter place and they charged me 15 bucks to weld in new brushes. Put it back together and all has been well for about three years now.

yeah i just sucumed to the laziness with in and went to auto zone and droped some fat cash to get a new one, just got it in... sooooo stoked, first time to run in a month or so

autozone starters tend to grind...keep that warranty handy.

yeah now my engine is leaking... think its the valve cover...

If you want to get used from a junk yard, you can get em for about $35. Either s-13 or s-14 will work for either application.
