After a brief drive today, i tried to start my car...Turn the key to start, all i get is a very rapid click and my interior dash lights flicker madly. After a couple tries it finally starts. It's done it again a few times tonight, sometimes if i hold the key for a few seconds it will eventually kick the starter in and fire right up. What the heck's going on?!? Please tell me it's the starter switch or just a bad connection. Please note that it's been really nasty cold/icey weather lately, i doubt that's helping anything.ast

Man, the same thing has happened to me once in a while, and finally it just wont start anymore.. I have a meet in NJ to get to on Sat where I have parts I haveto pickup..

Anyways, it's like the starter is disconnected.. You turn the key, it goes click, and thats it.. No? Hopefully someone can answer this q for us, I even had to call off work tomm.

mine doesnt just click once, if that was the case i'd be fairly sure it's the starter or the solenoid. it clicks really fast...I have the feeling that it's my starter kill switch, (duh!), i think the splice i made is comming apart, after a bit it eventually works it's way back together and will start. (supposedly, electricity trying to arc is enough to wiggle a wire a bit, according to my electrician stepbrother) i'm gonna check that tommorow though...anyone know if i can remove the harness from under the dash where the starter wires come through, without too much trouble? I want to pull it out and solder the darn things, if this is the problem. not enough room in there to solder very well as is thoughast

Here's my experience.-One click when turning ignition it's the starter solenoid gone bad.-Multiple fast clicks is either a bad battery or enough power isn't being supplied to the starter.

180 bucks? Starter at ****toZone is only 125 here. Mine did the same thing and it was actually the battery.. My starter is going and maybe killed the battery? Put a new battery in no more clicking. I just get a loud ummm wobbly wheel sound after I start. Starter is going.. WHEE!
