If you search enough you will see that you can use a ka24de starter on an SR. You have to take all the "internals" from the KA starter and swap them into the SR starter. You basically just need the bracket part from the SR so it bolts up. I have not personally done this, I just read it on this forum.

BTW, my problem was due to a bad connection on the battery. I re-tightened it and it worked fine. I took off the starter and took it to O'Reilly's, they tested it, and it was fine. So my friend recommended we check the battery. It took about 15 minutes of actual work to get the starter off. It took longer just to jack the car up and get it on the stands.

Actually your giving wrong information also. You use the KA SOHC Starter Motor/Syliniod and SR Starter head to rebuild the starter.

And I have done it not just read about it

No you have to use the motor and siliniod off the SOHC KA starter and the SR Starter head.

I was under the impression that it was the KA24E starter as well. And since you said you've done it, i believe you.

Yes it works very well just be carefull when taking them apart the gears inside will fall out on you and are annoying to put back in. Not hard but annoying.

Lastly DO NOT over tighten the bolts that hold the starter together. They need hand tight pressure.
