Starter problems with Fidanza flywheel or transmission spacer plate?

I installed a 9.5 lb Fidanza flywheel on my S14 sr recently, but my swap didnt come with the transmission spacer plate so I borrowed a friends and carefully made my own out of a peice of steel of the same gauge. The starter makes a horrible metal on metal screeching noise when I turn the key. I jumped the starter off of the motor and it works fine. I am almost sure that the problem is in my homemade spacer, but just in case has anyone had problems with Fidanza aluminum flywheels?

Anybody got a part number for the transmission spacer or know where I can get one? Nissan dealer maybe?
