starter problems

Sooooo.. I finished up the rest of my swappage and went to start the car but the starter was acting funny. When I turned the key nothing happened, but when I held the key in the start position for about 2-5 seconds I could hear the starter spool up and it sounded like it was just spinning and not engaging/hitting the flywheel. The starter worked great when I pulled the motor out of my last car so I'm kind of confused as to why it's not working now. I also used the KA lower harness for the starter/alt/etc if it makes a difference.

Tomorrow I am going to bust out the multimeter and make sure I'm getting enough power to the starter and check to see if it "sticks out" when the key is flipped but I figured I'd ask and see if anyone had any other suggestions. Thanks!
