Starter problems!!!

I got a 95 Maxima that I recently did a clutch on. after doing the clutch the car started rough then a few days later my starter went out. I got a reman from autozone put it in and it cranked over for about 3 seconds then the gear disengaged and the starter kept running I had to disconnect the battery to get the starter to stop running. they tested the starter and said it's fine which I dont believe. The issues are : Why does the car start rough, It cranks over but wont fire up right away and I hear a kinda grinding noise under the hood. My clutch is sort which is prolly just air in the lines. Any ideas about the starter??
