sounds like starter or clutch switch or clutch relay. try tapping on the clutch relay while some one holds the key in the start position. big blue relay with 2 connectors plugged into it. mounted along one of your fender walls in the engine compartment.

you were right ,one of the connectors was loose, okay i started the car but for some reason it wont idle so i have to rev it to keep it running, the rpm needle is eratic when i rev it,here is a list of every thing new, fuel pump, plug and wires, fuel filter, new starter, ignition module,2 relays (ecu and egi ithink) clutch, distubuter cap, there is no a/c on my car ,removed 3years ago, could it be the TPS? or should i stop wasting money on this junker, even though i love it. i havent been able to drive it for about 2 years, itll start but will only run for about 3 to 5 minutes then it dies and wont start again till the next day, again thanx for your help , cant afford to take it to a shop, so your help is appreciated.

your firing order is right. if you hold it steady at about 2000 rpm for a couple mins then let it gradually come back to idle. will it idle then?

sounds like you have a serious vaccum leak. is your pcv hose connected or your brake booster hose that runs behind your valve cover. your pcv is located above and back from your altenator.

checked the vac lines there is one thats not connected to anything couldnt find anything to connect it to its the one piece that has 3lines running in and 3 out and a 4th thats not connected, also i think my thermostate needs replaced or my water pump couldnt feel anthing in the hoses, plus engine got hot fast also notice when i give the car gas it hesitates before it actually does anything and it sounds like its backfiring out the exhuast, if i hold my foot 1/4 way down on the pedal the car will rev to about 3 or 4grand and then rev down to 600 to 1000rpm with out moving my foot from the pedal? any help again thanx

do a search on air flow meter and perform the tests on it. make sure thats not your problem. You definitly have a fuel control problem if it looses power while holding a steady throttle. hows the fuel in the tank and your fuel filter.

any car can be fixed with the right tools man. dont lose hope on it. Its a bit more difficult to help fix a car over the internet since I am not seeing it first hand. I have to base my help on my interpitation of what you tell me. so it takes a little longer then when I am actually seeing whats going on.

If you can take a snap shot of the hoses your talking about where you have the 4th extra line.
