ok so my car wont start, no biggie.after thinking at work today i figured it might be the starter after some creative thinking (fuel pump comes on and alternator has been running fine with no sign of any electronics being "slow" or anything)

alternator "clicks" but doesnt spin so i did the old fashion method and had my girlfriend turn my car over while i tapped the starter with a baseball bat, starter turned but really really slow and ended up dying out again.

so im assuming its the alternator and because my car wont start i cant really take it anywhere to get a 2nd opinion

so just wondering if anyone agrees with me that the starter is shot based on my old fashion method of checking it or if i might have overlooked something.

also i checked all the wiring to and from the starter, its all fine, and like i said before my car has been running good until last week when it would have a hard time starting......

i did search btw but i came to the same conclusion and im asking anyways.

Yea... seems like ur starter is bad. That or it's not meshing rite enuff to turn over your car. Are your relays and wiring still guud?

If you can get the chance to remove your starter, try wiring it to your battery to see if it turns under no load.

I changed my starter on my 91 hatch and all you really need is a ratchet set. It is really not that hard, but you must be patient and take your time.

Denso released their OE products to the aftermarket, Oe identical starters are available at densoproducts.com for a fraction of the dealer cost.

yea i think it is your starter. i changed my starter on my 95 240. it wasent hard it just took time. like the other guy said all you rally need is a rachet set and your good. but when you chagne it make sure it looks EXACLTY THE SAME!! i got one from autozone and it looked the same but it didnt fit because it didnt have a little indent like the stock one had. so just check that!
