starter problems and alarm install ?s about 97 200sx SE

first off i have had the car for a few months now it is a 97 200sx SE 5spd

recently its started making a weird noise after the car starts. it sounds like the starter dosent disengauge after the car starts and is being spun by the motor

half the time it just makes a really bad screeching sound and the other half it will screech and cause the car to stall if you dont tap the gas.

just want to know if anyone has had any experience with this type of problem

the other question i had is has anyone here installed an alarm system with remote start on a sentra/200sx. ive got one on the way and was lookin for someone with some experience or tips or tricks on best place to run wires and mount the brain and sensors.

Yes the starter squeal is a common problem. You have two options. A) Pull the starter, take it apart and grease the gears with some lithium grease. B) Get another one. Some people have had great success with option A, I didn't. I tried it and the next day the starter completely quit working.

i see in your sig you have a 92 se-r with a sr and i have heard the starter problem those have. my friend had a 91 with a bluebird motor and his starter always randomly made a squeel when starting.

the motor im dealing with is the ga16 and the problem/noise is definetly different than the one my friend was having

just makin sure were talkin bout the same thing

I think the issues are related. I had a g20 and it had its own issues with a starter. It was exactly as you described. I say replace it and be done with the issue.
