I have a very weird intermittent starter problem. Sometimes when I try to start my car it doesn't start, but it makes a loud clicking noise (sounds like the starter engaging but not spinning). The starter is only a year or two old and I also have a new ignition. This problem has been coming and going for a long time now, even before I bought the new starter and ignition. Any ideas?

Sounds like a dead battery caused by a bad alternator. But we need more info to really help. Do you have to jump it or keep trying to start it till it goes? Both have different things that could be wrong.

It starts after a couple tries. I did a voltage drop test too and between the battery and the starter and it was under 200mV.
