starter problem

my 1991 nissan sentra wont start. could someone send me a pic of where the starter is located, and if it is easy to r&r. someone told me that if i hit the starter with a pipe or so, it might start. please help.

look at the back of the engine where the transmission bell housing is located. It'll be on the side. It looks like...it's shaped like a stainless coffee cup...for a lack of a better description...
