Okay so I know this is a fairly easy fix either way, but I just want you guys opinions.

Last week I started having the problem of my pathfinder not starting, so I jumped it and went on my way, thinking nothing of it.then it started doing it every time.i noticed that the car isn't even trying to start the first couple of times I turn the key, but after like 4 or 5 tries it starts up.SLOW, but it does start up.

I'm planning on replacing both the starter and battery but I just wanna here your opinion on which you think it is, or maybe a combination of both?

Looking forward tohearing your responses, I just joined by the way, I got my pathfinder february of 2011 for 700$ with 120k on it

Welcome to NICO.

Check both ends of the battery terminals for corrosion and clean if required; also have the battery tested at any auto parts store.

Happended to me on my way to work. Everything worked fine, get to the gas station to get a pop, come back out and it wont start. Replaced the battery that night and not an issue since.

If it starts when you jump it, it's the battery. Don't waste money on a starter.

See that's what I thought, but it also starts without jumping it, it just takes a couple tries. I'm thinking its the terminals, they're not too bad but its been a couple of weeks since I've been under the hood, and last time I checked they did have a little white crusty crap around them, when I get home tonight I'm gonna clean the terminals and see if that does the trick, thanks for the replies guys I appreciate it!
