so i picked up a starter off a 91 from a yard

jackstanded my car got underneath to pull out my faulty starterand i can only spot 2 bolts holding my starter in placethe 3rd seems to be missing, in fact, i found the hole the bolt threads into, but its empty, and its hanging out, meaning the hole is up against nothing

its not the OEM starter thats for sure, but im confused as to why its not in placethe side that has two holes is being held onto the block by oneand the other is far off like above the transmission which is annoyingly hard to get to

whats going on here!??!

halp asap plzzz

what he said.......

a lot of times some cars have 3 starter bolts and I only put back on 2 when i reinstall the transmissions, just because 2 holds it just as good as 3, and the 3rd one is a PITA to get to, just leave it out

lots of people do this, why kill yourself when you don't have to
