I have searched but cannot find a link to a procedure for replacing the starter motor on a 1990 300ZX 2+2 NA with 5-speed.

Can someone provide the procedure or a link?

Thanks.

It's really easy man. All you gotta do is disconnect the battery, unbolt the wires that go to the starter, then unbolt the starter from the transmission bell housing. I think it is held on by 2 bolts and a nut.

It's really not difficult, trust me you don't need a guide for it. Just get under there and take a look at it, then report back here with Qs if you have any.

Before removing the started we followed the troubling shooting flow chart in the service manual (it is also posted on another topic here). We determined that the battery was the problem. It did not have enough juice to crank the starter but had enough to run some accessories.

We installed the new battery and the car starts now with not problem. Thanks for the help.

Good to hear man! Glad you got her fixed, and nice job using the troubleshooting from the manual - they are SO handy. Even those flow charts come in useful sometimes :)
