starter missing in a horrible way help plz

Car: 1990 240sx Silvia front end conversion ca18det swap gt2876R

i have a sr clutch and flywheel in my ca and my starter was missing in a horrible way so i did some research and found a write up on which starter to use so i went and got a gear reduction starter (the hoodless one) from a 1986 Nissan 200sx but its still missing not sure what to do about it except pick up a ca clutch and flywheel ideas much appreciated

Picking-up the appropriate parts might be your best bet because you're losing money and gaining gray hairs with the amount of labor and frustration that goes with experimenting.

when you turn it over it grinds so i swapped the starter with the gear reduction starter (the hoodless one) from a 1986 Nissan 200sx and its still grinding im thinking that the first starter may have damaged the flywheel but heres the link for the write up where i got the info from

Dude, the aftermarket has more than enough support for CA clutches and virtually whatever you need. Screw the SR's clutch crap and get a CA clutch set-up because you are in for a big loss in labor backed-up by mad amounts of frustration, only to realize that you really gained nothing by using or trying to use SR components on a CA18DET.
