Picking-up the appropriate parts might be your best bet because you're losing money and gaining gray hairs with the amount of labor and frustration that goes with experimenting.s1390 wrote:i have a sr clutch and flywheel in my ca and my starter was missing in a horrible way so i did some research and found a write up on which starter to use so i went and got a gear reduction starter (the hoodless one) from a 1986 Nissan 200sx but its still missing not sure what to do about it except pick up a ca clutch and flywheel ideas much appreciated
Dude, the aftermarket has more than enough support for CA clutches and virtually whatever you need. Screw the SR's clutch crap and get a CA clutch set-up because you are in for a big loss in labor backed-up by mad amounts of frustration, only to realize that you really gained nothing by using or trying to use SR components on a CA18DET.s1390 wrote:when you turn it over it grinds so i swapped the starter with the gear reduction starter (the hoodless one) from a 1986 Nissan 200sx and its still grinding im thinking that the first starter may have damaged the flywheel but heres the link for the write up where i got the info from
