Starter dead

I have a red top SR in my S13 and my starter is dead, (I made sure that everything else was checked before accepting the idea that the starter was dead). So my problem is that I don't want to dish out $200 for a used starter that may only last a short while. I've searched and there is nothing clear anywhere about if it can be rebuilt or if I can swap parts with another starter. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I dunno exactly where it is around here, but I think you can switch the housings I think, from the KA to the SR. Meaning, you could get a new KA one and change the housings for the SR. Try searching it up on google, its somewhere online, I'll try and look for it, but if not, I say just buy a used working one and save up a little for a rebuilt one.
