Need a new starter, should I buy an oem one or oe replacement such as mushimoto or isis? Pros and cons, first hand experiences, and other applicable information is extremely appreciated!

Its a simple part that doesnt need to be aftermarket. Just get an OEM one, and you get a core refund with it.

Yes that would have been nice. Still oem is fine for a starter. Look in the Nissan classifieds here, there are sure to be atleast one

That's a great idea, thanks man. Also, I just heard that you can swap parts over from the usdm ka24e starter. Haven't really looked into how the specs for it compare to the sr one yet tho.

I know you said you already got one but you could have got a ka24de starter and swapped the internals.

I got the ka starter priced out and it actually cost less for the isis one, even after geting the core charge back. Also, the local auto parts store didn't have one in stock. So, I opted for the isis one. Ordered it yesterday afternoon at 300, and it was delivered to my work at 1000 this morning! Enjuku is the s***! Holla!

Didn't even know said places existed...and by the way mad jealous of that skyline that used to be in your sig, very clean! Also I see that you also have a celica all-trac, my first car as a 1995 celica gt and always wanted that gt-four...heard they're really hard to find parts for...seriously the one car I must have before I die!

Update: I finished installing the Isis starter. Functions properly, and I really can't tell any difference as far as performance goes. If I did it over, I would probobly just have my jdm one rebuilt. But hey, my car starts. Anyways, here are some pics for anyone desiring a visual comparison.
