Starter and water, how well do they mix?

Both my starter and AC compressor have been sitting in water for about 3 days now, and the starter was entirely submerged. Any chance both of these will still be working by the time i put them back in the car? Should I shoot them with some wd40 and let it sit out in the sun for a few days?

What were they sitting in water for?

I would assume both of them being fine if you let the dry completely before supplying power to them, but you never know...

Probably not good. I'd at least clean off the solenoid bolts with some sandpaper.
