starter AND battery

last night, i went to turn my Z on and it didn't start, tested the starter and it was bad. this morning i replaced the starter and it still didn't start. tested the battery, had 24.8 volts but only 100 starting amps (which could barely start a lawnmower). so after a new starter and new battery (also $180 later) she runs perfect again. has anybody else have the starter AND battery go out at the same time?

24.8V???!?!?!! Damn dude. How'd you manage that?

24.8V might have killed something in the starter.

wait, it was 12.8 volts, sorry, i was thinking of an airplanes battery (i am at work).
