Started changing out my transmission..that is a job on these. I've never had a transmission job this labor intensive. But I'm doing some long needed upkeep also. New rear main, oil cooler gasket, oil pan gasket, lock tite on intake runners, pcv valve,,and clean all carbon in intake and throttle body

What happened? Why are you changing it out?
How many miles/Kms?
Just curious.

162k hard miles. Fourth gear went out all the way and he shifts were getting really sloppy. It happened almost overnight. The only real sign was when getting on the freeway and downshifting to second, it took almost a full second for 2nd gear to grab all the way.

Did you try a transmission oil change first?

I did. No change in the way it was acting. The fluid in it wasn't too bad, and the magnet on the pan wasn't very covered up in junk. I took it to a shop and a friend who is a mechanic and the both said it was going bad. There were no codes no noises no smells just acting up.

Just about finished. Exhaust bolts were rusted and of course I broke a few off. So I'm having to drill and tap the holes. I hope to drive it today. Its been parked for almost three weeks. I'm not fond of my truck so I'll be thrilled to be back in my pathfinder. Removing everything was a task, getting everything back together wasn't too bad at all. I'm fairly surprised at how clean everything was. Other than exhaust and a few rusted nuts and bolts it looked new. My girlfriend came out and thought I put a new engine in because of how clean I keep it.. 'its pretty' haha poor thing.
