Most of you guys know that i'm doing an FMIC/bov install and relocating my baterry.

So anyway.. The Fmic/bov have been on for days, but i wasnt able to start it up until i got the battery relocation kit..

Today, i am nearly done the relocation, i only need a few zip ties and 2 nuts (hardware store on the way to work) So i got anxious and decided to starter up and see how the type S sounds..

let it warm, rev, rev, rev, revvvvvv PSSSHH.. Very very nice sound.. Then as i'm cleaning up the garage and letting the car idle, there is un burnt fuel on my garage floor and puddled in the exhuast....? Should that happen?

I'm not an expert on the subject, but I'm under the impression that fuel should not leak :)

If it's puddled in the exhaust, that probably means you're running rich. Probaby just from the rich warm-up mode though.

Glad to hear about your car running too :)

Warmup mode.. maybe thats it.

I expected it to run rich when it blows off.. i mean, thats a given.. But in the ATM BOV thread that was on here a while ago very few people said they had backfires (fuel burning in the exhaus) So i thought i might have screwedup a vac line or something.

Thanks alot, i wouldnt have thought of that.

I guess you'll really find out after driving it a little bit. See how it goes after that.

I took it for a quick test drive tonight.. No fireballs or backfiring, but but i didnt really let the exhaust get super hot..

Didnt stumble or stall comming to idle, and I am getting a little of that... Whats it called when air escapes through the compressor blades and it echos?

Tell you, it is a kick in the pants from the SMIC. :D :D :D

sorry if this is a noob response, but did u smell to make sure it was gas or did u assume, because it could possibly be water created from the cat that is dripping out

Thats not supposed to happen. If fuel is dripping out of your exhaust just think how much is not being burnt off in combustion and think of your gas mileage. Somethings not right. Iv'e had mine for going on four yrs. Now condensation is normal and maybe a slight gas smell do to blow buy in the combustion chamber. but if its excessive fuel then you are too rich. What kind of metering gauges and such do you have?

If you are getting that much unburned fuel through your engine...that's not good. It's not good for your engine either, running really rich can be bad as well.

I just used the same vac line to go to my BOV that was on the stock recirc valve.

BTW-the differnce from SMIC to FMIC was 30hp and 50lb/ft for me...can we say huge!

wondering if it was a freak thing. Drove it tonight... Feels great, no backfires, no bogging.. car has a COMPLETELY different attitude.. wonder what kinda HP difference it is? not to mention the weight it lost.
