I pulled the long block into the garage tonight. Took off more external stuff, covers, etc. first...

Then I removed the cams and the lifters. I bagged all of my stuff and kept it ALL in order of where it came from. I have pics of every step and everything organized in labelled bags and tupperware. My buddy Shawn saw this old tackle box thingie on a shelf in my storage, and it made a perfect way to store the hydraulic lifters. Will be rebuilding those this week.

Tomorrow I get off work early, so I am taking the whole bottom end as-is to my local trusty auto machine shop for a strip, dip, and rebuild. I am taking time now to make sure I have a reliable, pretty much oem bottom end. I am going to sink some time and money in the head now, and when I pay off all the credit cards from this initial build of the motor and car, I will buy a second block to build with expensive parts and then get a bigger turbo to suit, and meet my ultimate goals. As soon as I get this off tomorrow, I am spending the rest of the weekend getting my rx7 harness spliced with the bay and motor harnesses from the 240.

Pics of everything can be seen here!
