1.) oil and water leaks from where the lines come out of the turbo and into the block... fixing oil with teflon tape. going to try the same with the water line.

2.) won't idle. (possible vac. line problem?)

3.) sounds like a nut or something is rattling around the intake part of the turbo. i can hear it through the intake. going to check the blades when i try to fix the water leak.

4.) a lot of blow bye when i open the oil cap. granted, the rpm is at about 1500 because it won't idle. but the head and engine sound great. is it just because of the rpm or could it indicate a possible problem?

are the lines themselves leaking, or just the fittings? if it's fittings, you can tighten them down instead of wrapping them in tape

1. Did you tighten the bolts enough? Did you replace the copper washers that are on the lines?

2. Get a vac gauge and take a reading. Post what you get.

3. Yeah look around. If it sounds like a rattling around the turbo post what you find.

4. Possibly, you've got a shot or clogged IACV which could also explain why it won't idle. Check to make sure the screw isn't tightened down all the way and work from a high idle down.

make sure your timing is correct. did you do anything to your engine? or is it bone stock?

and you're positive that each banjo bolt has two copper washers?

100% positive. i replaced them, and double checked to make sure i didn't drop them. water is still leaking. but that isn't the big problem anymore.

car will idle now. still a lot of blowby though.turbo shaft has play in it now and the sound was the fins hitting the sides of the inlet. the car will drive, but it produces no boost. what would of caused this? the turbo didn't have any play before.

i guess i will have to replace my turbo? thats not too bad i guess. at leasts its a great reason to upgrade. and it will make it awfully easy to tap out the holes from the banjo fittings and replace them with something less retarded like braided stainless.

**update**

adjusted the cas and the excessive blowby went away. car is running a whole lot smoother. wastegate works so something is jacked in my turbo. i figure its getting jammed against the turbo housing. when i started my car for the first time i had an oil leak from the oil inlet line on the turbo so i guess it got starved for oil. so should i get a new turbo? or have bigger and better guts put into my old one? and if so what should the new turbo/bigger better guts be for the best bang for the buck?
