got my rb25 started up last night but coolant was coming out between the block and transmission, what could this be. we figured it might have been a drain plug but thats on the other side so any suggestions would be great

heres a little run down of what went on, started car on all fours nice and level and the clutch was making a noise when engaged, took it off and it started to go away, pumped it a few times and now it just squeels when the clutch is engaged like its getting something on it, and coolant is coming out of the transmission area and were just wondering where to check for this leak

the leak is not coming from the transmission , it looks like its coming from the top of the engine, somewheres around the back of the head, any suggestions as to what it could be?

coolant line runs across the back of the head sounds like the culprit. I think its the feed line for the turbo water.

Don't drive the car like that! Your clutch may have already died unfortunately.

Sounds like it to me, I burst mine at the track once.

Its sorta a ***** to get to depending on your mounts...

ive been around that line now and have been tracing the leak and it doesnt seem to be comnig from that line, i immediately thought so when we figured it was comnig from higher up but that doesnt seem to be the case, is there anything else back there that coolant runs through

Yea, post your reply for thsoe who search this question later on.

Your lucky it wasn't a freeze plug on the back of the block, requiring the transmission to come off. (going by the sound of how easy your fix was, i'm figuring you didn't have to do this)

oh sorry, it was the coolant line running between the head and the firewall, had a slice in the bottom, had to be shortened and reattached works great now, no leaking coolant
