start up problem. need help asap!!!!

i just bought a 1991 s-13 hatch. it was turning on perfect the first few days but since i had the doors open for long periods of time wile i was working on it the battery died. i replaced it the nexted day with a used battery but now the car stalls to turn on. wat could it be? that used battery? because it was working fine in th other s-13 i had it in.
