I have a 1992 240sx w/ KA(de) and as of last week, i have been having starting problems. The car does turn over but it takes awhile to turn over.

I went ahead and changed my plugs today and it seemed to have helped alot during the day but, like while i was leaving work around 7 Pm. it was about 55 degrees with a windchill about 40 something. The car started acting up again and this time when it started, the car shook for a little bit and then was smooth again..

Do you think it might be the battery wirings or maybe the CCA? The battery terminal does have some corrostion on it. it's been having the corrosion problem for some time.. and even replacing the terminal, it corrodes again.

I bought the car back in 01 and it is a Duralast battery.

Thanks!!

i dont know.. I think the battery is older than 5 years also though.. since it already had the battery in there... Do you think that might be why? but would that cause the car to shake also?

I know the smell of fuel is from the flooding of the injectors when it doesnt crank up right away..

If it is a five year battery, get it replaced. It will only cause you hardship.

There is an air regulator that bumps the idle up to around 1200 for the start and subsequent few minutes.

i actually changed out the intake booths and cleaned the intake and put some sea foam in the tank and now it seems to start a bit better. the replaced battery didnt make not difference with the start. but sometimes while i drive. it feels like the car is pullin when im not pushin on the pedal. also, i did change out the brake booster air vac hose.
