Starion intercooler??? Any experience???

Has anybody used a starion intercooler?? What did you guys do to make it fit, and how well does it hold boost???

I bought 1 along time ago fixed the leaks and sold it. They generally leak around the brackets on the end tanks cause they are rivited on. The piping is bent wrong and if its cut off straight good luck getting a hose to stay on it. The piping is alot smaller than say a greddy or hks. The core is also alot smaller than my hks. You'll spend alot of time and money on fabing piping for it. Not a good choice in my opinion.

I've got one on my S13 right now, it works awsome, and has for almost a year now. It fits perfectly infront of the rad, you dont have to mount in all the way up front like others, so thats an advantage. Short piping, but yes the outlets are small. But it has worked awesome for me soo far. If you want pics let me know.

I had one on my old CA, works allright for low boost. The trick is to totally cut off the old pipes, weld plugs in, and put 2in inlet and outlet pipes in the sides. That will greatly increase flow.

If you don't do that it's really not worth much of anything.

Also it fits nice in the front end of an S13.

what do you mean by low boost?? 10-14 psi or more than that???

I'd say much past 12 on a T25 and it's getting abused... but I ran 14 and somtimes 18 on mine.

sir, you might want to check out the lancer evolution fmic. srt motorsports in anaheim used to have them going for about 250/each.
