So Disney World has finished it's newest attraction and it's for your Star Wars nerds (or anyone who likes the Star Wars universe)...

For those of you who are on a budget and can only afford a weekend Disney World has a package called Star Wars Weekend...

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/ ... s-weekend/

"Star Wars Weekends is an annual special event at Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park that celebrates the legendary Star Wars Saga and the animated television series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each weekend, you can join celebrities and characters for special shows, panels, presentations and more!

Remember that Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park admission is required. Availability is limited for some events, which may be cancelled at any time."

Have a kid that you're forming into a fellow Jedi, take them to do the Jedi Academy experience...

"Kids learn to use the Force at Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy, an exciting 30-minute live show featuring inspiring music and awesome lightsaber duels at Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park.

Kids, ages 4 to 12, learn to use the Force at Star Wars: Jedi Training Academy, an exciting 30-minute live show featuring inspiring music and awesome lightsaber duels at Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park."

Want to do the whole experience then you definitely want to do the Star Tours experience...

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/ ... tar-tours/

"Rocketing into your galaxy on May 20, 2011, Star Tours is back with new destinations, new characters and new adventures—now presented in brilliant digital 3-D! Board a Starspeeder 1000 for a thrilling journey through George Lucas' Star Wars universe. A galaxy of trouble awaits, but don't worry, the Force will be with you, always!"

So there you go, don't be surprised if this becomes the must do vacation destination next summer. I just hope that this becomes so popular that they build something similar at Disney Land b/c frankly Disney Land is a hell of a lot better theme park than Disney World is.

I don't see the Star Wars attraction at Disney World becoming the must visit place any time soon, as Star Wars as a franchise is beginning to fade. For the near future, I think the Harry Potter stuff Universal Studios will be the hot ticket.

That said, I thought the old Star Tours ride was great but was getting stale. You could literally walk onto it in recent years. It's great they've they updated it. The Padwan academy thing looks awesome for the 4-12 crowd but restricting it to 15 kids per show means they gotta run a lotta shows to make an impact. It didn;t say how many shows they were planning...

If Natalie Portman isn't there, no care.
