??? Standalone Engine Management ???

Discuss the RB20, RB25 and RB26 series engines.

What does everybody recommend as far as a standalone engine management unit. I fried my stock ecu and was woundering what i should replace it with... Any ideas?

a lot of us here used the Apex Power FC + Datalogit. it can plug in to your harness so no rewiring is required.

IMO if you are are still primarily a street car I would ROM tune the stock ECU (i.e. consider getting another stocker)

Otherwise the next easiest (run on stock wiring) would be PFC + Datalogit or AEM EMS.

what motor do you have?

if you want to stay with the stock ECU i have one for SI RB25DET

I have an RB25 i tried to find the apexi and all i get is that its on backorder until the end of december or somthin crazy like that

first you need to figure out why you fried your stock ecm. You wouldn't want to spend 1g + on a standalone and fry it.

Make sure you didn't just blow a fuse... What happened to it?

Either way I'd get the AEM. The PFC is way too pricey now. Damn to think I sold mine a long time ago for less than $400 :o.

Have any of u heard of using the Mega Squirt II? I looked the AEM and the universal is like 3gs. And ppl i talked to say that the power fc is on backoreder til like the end of december or some crazyness like that....

There are many routes you can take...

Mega Squirt is one of them, along with others mentioned above.

as well as other popular brands that are universal fitting that will require some wiring up of sensors but will certainly do the job.

and $3k for a AEM is on the high side, and you don't have to worry about getting a universal box. http://shop.rawbrokerage.com/p...Id=73
