How do you determine which is the best standalone? There are so many options out there. -AEM EMS-Apexi Power FC (W/ datalogit) *D-Jetro-Haltech-Motec-Microtech-HKS E-conEmanage Ultimate( Piggy back unless you have harness) AutronicTomei

Ijust need a little help picking one out. I need that has features such as :-knock control-Nos/ Methanol injection control-turbo timer-multiple maps -easily tunable-MAP sensor-Wideband compatible. lamda

I like the power FC, but if you don't have the datalogit, its a pain to tune,-AEM, I've seen the comments about compatibility with the Nissan,SR, RB-Motec, haven't really heard much about.( Which model for S13 SR20det?)-Haltec has some features but not all ( Which model for S13 SR20det?)

I just need a little assistance from someone that's knowledgeable about the subject. I don't want to make the wrong decision and end up kicking myself later. This subject has been covered, I know I know. I"m in a different situation, my engine is already built and running. I'm not in a what if i got this and that scenario, I've already done what i wanted w/ the engine. I don't want something that will start misfiring and breaking up after 500+HP, I need a dependable ECU.

The engine has been completely rebuilt, just breaking it in under the old ECU(mines tune) and injectors(550cc) w/ SAFCII.

i was told to get what your tuner is comfortable and used to tuning.

so find out who you want to tune your car, and find out what they like tuning with and bam.

i can't get rid of the turbo just yet, I have to wait until i purchase the full race kit. Also, I would need to sell the whole setup I have currently. I just put a new tomei exhaust manifold and elbow on the car along w/ new stainless steel turbo lines. In retrospect, I'd have to sell them together. Haven't figured out a price i'd sell them for either. that's another delima

Unless money is no object. I would say that the Power FC is the most bang for the buck. But I dont have any experience with it directly...yet lol.

Have the power fc l jetro (maf) and love it, has the commander so you can keep an eye on 8 things at one time. boost, knock, temp etc. For the money its deff worth it.

Aem, Haltech, Motec are some of the more advance, and more expensive, with Motec being the most expensive. I'm going to use Haltech, although AEM would be a good choice too. Some things the full standalone and more expensive units offer are things like launch control, anti lag, traction all the bells and whistles some people like.

The PFC, emanage, Nistune and such don't support these features although they may currently be in the process of developing them.

I went with Haltech, because I got a good deal on it, they make a patch loom harness, which allows me to plug right in like the AEM and it allows me to have anti-lag launch control for the drag strip when I go.

You really need to do the research on the units yourself though, each one has similarities and differences and some are more user friendly than others.

I have the AEM and i will never get anything else.

It will do everything you have listed except thr turbo timer, and to my knowledge no EMS can. When you turn the key off it cuts the power to the ecu, so something has to keep that circut closed for a period of time.
